The
Wanderer is designed for light use. Although
it's a less expensive pack,
it's still a Kelty - it features a great 5-point harness
and Kelty's trademark auto-deploying kickstand, allowing
you to easily set the carrier down on the ground with
your child inside. Other features include the removable
kid pack and a handy storage pocket in the waistbelt.
This is a great carrier for running errands,
strolling through parks or around lakes, or for the
occasional hike. If light use like this is your intended
use for a child carrier, the Wanderer is a quality
option.
Kelty Wanderer
compared to the Kelty Journey:
The Kelty Wanderer does not
feature the easy torso adjustment of the
Journey - it employs a more
traditional waistbelt system. The Journey's cockpit is
also better than the Wanderer's - it can be reclined
slightly for a more comfortable ride, and it has a
removable/washable pad for sticky fingers and other baby
mishaps. Basically, if you're only looking for a carrier
for running errands or taking short hikes, the Wanderer
will work great.
